A big flag The flag of St. Lucia is a symbol of one of the important features of the Island. Can you guess what it represents?

When you are using the internet you often need to type in the url (address) of the site that you want to visit you may have seen it in a magazine or on a shop. It is tricky to get this right. Here is one to practise: http://www.sluonestop.com/kids/index.html, there is another symbol of St. Lucia on the top left corner. That symbol is made up of the same feature as the flag.

If you still need help have a look at the photographs to see if you can guess. Were you right? What is the name of the feature the flag represents?

 

While you are still on The Guided Tour site (see above) look at the Maps page. Name four important towns on the island.

What is the name of the sea to the west of the island, and what is the name of the ocean to the east of the island?

The red lines are the main roads. Choose two or three things on the island that you would really like to see if you went there. Plan a route for your sightseeing by marking the route and the places that you want to visit on the map.

An Extension activity: Visit St.Lucia One Stop, go to the kids section, look at schools, homework help, and look around the rest of the site. Start to gather information to make a list of similarities and difference between families living there and families living here.
