Level
3
Pupils use ICT to save information and to find and use appropriate stored information, following straightforward lines of enquiry. They use ICT to generate, develop, organise and present their work. They share and exchange their ideas with others. They use sequences of instructions to control devices and achieve specific outcomes. They make appropriate choices when using ICT-based models or simulations to help them find things out and solve problems. They describe their use of ICT and its use outside school.
Pupils need to be taught to acknowledge their sources. Web links
need to be pasted under the images to say where they came from and
possibly captions added to the images.
At present this piece of work is Level 3. Many teachers may at first glance have felt that it was Level 4 and it could be with formative assessment. The teacher now needs to challenge the child over the accuracy of some of the information contained in their newspaper e.g. “second world war came, 1929….”
In their next draft it should be suggested that the pupil uses a more appropriate font for their presentation as it is difficult to read.
