Vocational Pathways. Ofsted have now published the report on the introduction of applied GCSEs look specifically at pp1-8 which summarise the findings, and on p7 there are actions required at local and school level.

A very helpful and timely publication from QCA has appeared, called Designing a Personalised Curriculum for alternative provision at KS4. It has lots of useful case studies of both individual students and institutions.

Sam Learning
For SATs, GCSE and A Level, SAM Learning offers comprehensive e-learning that's proven to improve exam results. Suppliers to 26 LEAs in the UK - 103,123 students chose to use SAM Learning last academic year. 48% of usage was outside school hours. Some of this is free but most is a subscription service.

Quite a lot of specialist schools are following 'online' GNVQ courses provided by other schools as a package, at around £3000 per cohort.
