Jo Ryman, Personalised Learning Consultant, reviews the recently published DVD

Keys to learning in literacy and mathematics

This publication supports teachers in making links between their own use of ICT to support teaching and children’s use of ICT to support their learning.  It is designed to be used by leadership teams to support professional development for all staff, focusing on areas of literacy and mathematics commonly identified as priorities.  The materials support the raised profile of the use of ICT to support learning and teaching within the renewed Frameworks for teaching literacy and mathematics.

Keys to learning covers 7 areas of literacy and mathematics: Early reading, Reading on screen, Writing Key Stage 1, Writing Key Stage 2, Calculation, Problem Solving and Shape and Space.

The DVD contains a wide variety of resources designed to support practitioners in making effective use of ICT, including:

Spreadsheet workbooks, Interactive teaching programmes, Lesson outlines and teaching sequences, Interactive whiteboard files, Interactive texts, Video Clips and Support Materials for reading and writing

The DVD also includes skills tutorials to support the use of spreadsheets, ITPs and interactive texts, and can be searched by year group, topic or type of resource.
