The BBC Motion Gallery is a resource containing thousands of video clips taken from BBC archives which can be downloaded and used to support teaching and learning. There are many different searchable subject areas including clips taken from the BBC news. Once registered, the video clips are very easy to access. After you have registered with the site, children and teachers can use a simple or advanced search facility to find clips that they need to support their work or objective. After carrying out a simple search on Ancient Greece, the results returned a range of Greek buildings and architecture. These could be used by children to support their understanding of what Ancient Greek Architecture looked like. They could then use a Cad package (FlexiCAD) to design their own Ancient Greek columns and Parthenon.

| KS1 could do a seaside search to identify key features of the seaside. This could also include specific seaside towns. Brighton and Blackpool have great examples of what a modern seaside looks like. There are also some fantastic clips of under the sea, which could be used as a stimulus for an art (Colour Magic) or music (Compose World) based project. |

There are many video clips in the ‘Ideas’ section of the site, which would link perfectly to many aspects of the PSHCE curriculum. For example you can select clips linked to different feelings and emotions and use them to discuss body language, facial expressions or reasons why people feel a particular way.
