Carol Rainbow, Primary ICT Advisory Teacher, announces the winners and runners up in this years' BCS web competition.

The British Computer Society Web Competition

The British Computer Society web creation prize giving took place at Shrivenham Defence Academy on the evening of Thursday 23rd June. A large number of excited pupils packed into the theatre to hear who had won the wonderful selection of prizes including Play Stations, multimedia machines, memory sticks, CDs and games.

Congratulations also go to St Birinus who won the Challenge Cup and a £500 consultancy deal from the BCS members who thought that they would enjoy and benefit from the teams’ knowledge.

Many congratulations to the pupils of Rush Common who came first in the primary section. They won a multimedia computer for the school and a Play Station 2 for each of the team members.

Hagbourne School came second in the primary section and Didcot Girls claimed the second prize in the secondary section, both schools taking home a networkable and duplex capable, Brother HL-1570DN mono laser printer, plus toner bundle. Team members won CDs and / or USB storage keys.

All pupils had the opportunity to take home hats, pens, notepads, mugs, key rings etc. as well as being presented with a bag of similar items. A professional photographer took photographs and all pupils were photographed with the visiting BCS large mouse.
